The judges were impressed by the high calibre of the inventiveness and variety of thematic content from our Year 11 and 12 writers. They made good use of tone in building tension and sometimes skilfully surprising us with unexpected resolutions. Well-executed narrative plot lines were also fully on display.

ACTATE thanks the Year 11 and 12 category judges, Christina Cochrane and Sandra Lambert, for their time and expertise.

Both are English teachers who also worked as educational consultants in the USA. Christina is a former ACTATE executive member and Sandra was a principal of an ACT college.
